Houston Rodeo - Gary Allan concert
Jason and I had a very TEXAS night out last week - we went to the Houston Rodeo. Everything in Texas is bigger, and this rodeo is huge!! It lasts for 2 weeks and there are concerts every night. We headed down to see Gary Allan (country music singer for those of you unfamiliar) - Jason's friend from high school, Jaime Hanna, plays guitar and sings backup in the band. We had dinner with Jaime before the concert (and got a peek at the huge tour bus) and then saw some of the rodeo and the concert. It was crazy to see Jaime down on the stage and on the big screen playing his guitar. I loved it - and this was the only way I was ever going to get my husband to take me to a country concert. Now, thanks to Jaime, we have opened his eyes to the wonderful world of country music.

Build-A-Bear
We had a great family night at Build-A-Bear with the girls - Mia filled her "Star Chart" (she got a star for each day she was good and helpful around the house) and her reward was a new bear. This was Lily's first time to go, and they both had a ball. Mia knew the routine and showed Lily what to do. Lily's favorite part was picking the clothes - she is all girl!! We went for cheeseburgers and shakes afterwards, and both girls snuggled with their bears in the car. Jason was shocked at the price for the bears, clothes and accessories (poor man in a house of all girls) but for the smiles we got he forgot all about the cost and focused on the fun. What a great dad.

Holiday Memories
So, I have now posted my latest photobook -- and with that I think I have covered the basics of what has been happening for the last few months. Time to start looking forward, and not back. I am going to be better about posting to this blog...that is just one of the many new year's resolutions I have floating around in my head.

BFF / Cousins - Mia and Hayden
We had a great to trip to UT for the holidays, and the hardest part about leaving was taking Mia back to Texas and leaving Hayden in Utah. There were many tears from Mia as we left aunt Kim's house, while we were on the airplane and since we have been back. Hayden is my sister, Kim's, youngest. Mia and Hayden are only 3 months apart and spent the first year of life together. Now they only get to see each other a few times a year. Could any two cousins be any cuter??
I just hope they stay this close in the years to come. I love to hear them chat on the phone and tell each other about preschool and what is going on. Actually, true to character, Mia does most of the talking. But that is why they are such great friends - Hayden listens so well and seems to enjoy hearing her talk.
We miss you Hayden!! See you this summer!!

Little Miss Lily
We love our babysitter, Sarah!! She babysat the night before my birthday and put the kids to bed. The next morning when I got Lily up, this was my birthday surprise. She helped Lily discover the joy of wearing panties -- the way only Lily could pull it off!! We were having an issue with Lily wanting to take her pants and diaper off all the time. This little invention cured that. We can convince her to wear them under her pants most of the time now, but this is still the classic look of Lily that I never want to forget.

I am Finally Back to my Blog - and Happy Valentine's Day!!
Ok, so it has only been 3 months since my last posting...time flies when you are in the middle of the holidays and major home repairs. But I am ready to get back on track. We have had Thanksgiving, snow in Texas, Christmas in UT, New Year's and I turned a year older all since my last update. I am going to try and add some photos and tales from the last few months to let you know what we have been doing. As you can see from our V-day pictures, the girls keep getting bigger and having lots of fun - Mia was headed to her Valentine's Day school party and Lily was thrilled to be wearing her Strawberry Shortcake V-day shirt (she is still obsessed with Strawberry Shortcake). Mia has learned to ride her bike with no training wheels but has met the asphalt a few times - as you can see with the scratch across her nose. Lily is Miss Independent, and with that comes lots of bumps and bruises. Her lastest is a large, attractive bruise on her head that she got as she tried to get out of the bathtub all on her own. XOXOXOXO
